Ah, back into the delightful world of MAME! I'm running version 0.148 on my PC and... having a little bit of trouble getting the old cobwebby files to work. What DOES work so far: Super Breakout! Sheesh. And it's not the good Atari 2600 version either. It's the bad Atari 8-bit version. Also, Popeye and Road Fighter, which I'm pretty happy about, despite the silly title. And I just got Tutankhamun to work! Blogger is telling me I didn't spell that right. Nor "sheesh" for that matter. Sheesh. Psychological insight time: the ones I really want to get to work are Pac-Man, of course, Time Pilot '84... something else... and Klax. Yes, but I am a member of the Ku Klax Klan. See, a long time ago when MAME used to work, I made an audio tape of some of these games as I played them on my PC, and I've been playing that tape in my car for a while now. I eventually had to stop, so I threw the tape out. Actually, I put it in a Starbucks coffee cup before I threw it out, so all you dumpster divers out there will know it was mine when you run across it. To get to the bonus round, you have to tell me what I wrote on the label. For now, I'm looking for a file called "klax.c" on my external hard drive. I don't know what folder it goes in, so I better put a copy in all of them just in case.
Anyway, now that they had that Yahoo! story about Candy Crush, time to lay off for a good long while! Time for some 'Road Fighter' action!!
