Phacebook -> Words with Phriends

...let's see if anyone notices.  I don't think I ever made a post about Zynga's terrific Scrabble ripoff..  I mean, tribute, Words with Friends.  ...well, here it is.  And here's the tool I used to cheat with.  Guess that's why I lost all my Words with Friends friends.

Monday, 9/5/'16, 12:29 pm - Oh, they're cruel bastards.  I've got a day off and the challenge hasn't even started yet!  I might not be able to do it this week, guys!

Tue., 9/6/'16, 7:33pm - Sorry, guys.  Nice offer, but I got to get back to my life now.  True, 17,000 points and 300 or so JQXZ words is indeed a challenge, but I've got other stuff to do.  Plus, you kind of broke my heart by not starting it on Monday.  Granted, points were counted... no, I have to stop.

MAME - Bubble Bobble

Oh, doesn't this deserve its own post?  I made it to level 83 today... man, that level 72's a pain in the ass!  I cheated, of course... I got player 2 involved when I was on the brink of losing the game, and so forth... okay, time to try it again.  Be right back!
...1:14pm - Not enough hours in the day, as they say.  Not enough time on my hands!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuXOSBb4hQw - I keep forgetting.  As movies and video games continue to go hand in hand, now we've got people on YouTube playing games for all of us!  I could've saved myself a little trouble this way

MAME - Klax, Do Run Run! and many many others!

Thank you, Cool Rom.com!!!!  Go to http://www.coolrom.com/roms/mame/.

One of the levels of Klax says "Play Klax every day!"  Well, actually, I'm working up to it, slowly but surely!  One of the hints that they don't give, conveniently enough, is to use the musical interlude when you make a row... I'm sorry, a "klax"... to get right away to the next few moves ahead, especially when the tiles start piling on more and more, as they are wont to do.

MAME - Smash T.V.

I can die a happy man.

5/18/'15 - Well, I hope someone at Williams got a big bonus for approving this game.  What a quarter vacuum!  Why, one of the best things I learned in college was how to beat this game... and it only cost me about five bucks in quarters!  When I was playing with MAME last night, it took me a while, but I finally burned through 60 credits (the maximum).  Well, the only way you can clear all the mines is by throwing yourself upon them.  Funny!  The bad guys don't get blown up.

6-2-2015 - ...didn't I want to do something with my life?  Anyway, reading about Smash T.V. is almost as interesting as playing it!  I did notice that there seem to be some Question Mark rooms on the "Die Cobros" map... that's a mixture of German and Spanish, apparently.  Shouldn't it be "Los Dos Cobros" or sumpthing?... well, clearly this game isn't as well documented on the web as, say, the Doom series.  Apparently, no one's thought to make a screen capture of the level maps.  I gotta do everything around here.
Well, I've thought about it a lot.  There's a wide array of weapons to use in Smash T.V.  You've got the regular rifle, you've got the rifle that shoots three bullets at once in kind of a fan shape, you've got your grenade thrower, you've got the orbiting blue orb that can mimic any weapon... ooh!  And the rockets that cut through stuff like a knife through butter.  But I think the most powerful weapon OF ALL is the protective green circle around the player that can blow up anything, except the really big bad guys.  Why, I seem to do best when the player dies, then comes back out from the left with that protective green circle!

MAME - Time Pilot '84

Reminds me of the time Monty Burns was writing his memoirs "Will There Ever Be A Rainbow?" and he ends it with "What, me thank you for reading?  That's right..." ...something like that.  Look it up online.

5/8/'18 - ...also, is it just me?  Or does the final spaceship look like the wheel on a school bus?

Dragon Shadow - Home of the Ultimate Time Pilot '84 Fan site - Great map with all the secret targets, etc.

MAME

Ah, back into the delightful world of MAME!  I'm running version 0.148 on my PC and... having a little bit of trouble getting the old cobwebby files to work.  What DOES work so far: Super Breakout!  Sheesh.  And it's not the good Atari 2600 version either.  It's the bad Atari 8-bit version.  Also, Popeye and Road Fighter, which I'm pretty happy about, despite the silly title.  And I just got Tutankhamun to work!  Blogger is telling me I didn't spell that right.  Nor "sheesh" for that matter.  Sheesh.  Psychological insight time: the ones I really want to get to work are Pac-Man, of course, Time Pilot '84... something else... and Klax.  Yes, but I am a member of the Ku Klax Klan.  See, a long time ago when MAME used to work, I made an audio tape of some of these games as I played them on my PC, and I've been playing that tape in my car for a while now.  I eventually had to stop, so I threw the tape out.  Actually, I put it in a Starbucks coffee cup before I threw it out, so all you dumpster divers out there will know it was mine when you run across it.  To get to the bonus round, you have to tell me what I wrote on the label.  For now, I'm looking for a file called "klax.c" on my external hard drive.  I don't know what folder it goes in, so I better put a copy in all of them just in case.
Anyway, now that they had that Yahoo! story about Candy Crush, time to lay off for a good long while!  Time for some 'Road Fighter' action!!

...Minesweeper

Welp, the subliminal ad campaign by my professor worked.  It was time to try Minesweeper again.  I can't remember how many months or years it's been, but like most people, I hit rock bottom after going on a very long Minesweeper bender.  Have I learned nothing in the years in between?  Well, I'm slightly better at recognizing the patterns, but when it comes down to the 50/50 parts I still suck.  In fact, I suck unless I get a puzzle that's easy enough for me to solve, which is still about 1 in 10.  Gotta go!  Test time.......

Facebook - Bubble Witch Saga

Welp, I finally broke down and tried a new game.  "New", that is.  Seems like a lot of these other bubble shooters, frankly, but with a little pinball twist with those kewl spiders that bubbles bounce off of for extra points.  I'm surprised!  I haven't had to indoctrinate my friends yet!  I thought I'd have to do that every five levels or so.
